MARRIAGES BETWEEN THE FOLKARD AND CROUCH FAMILIES
In tracing the ancestry of Eliza Crouch (born 1806) I entered the Folkard dynasty where, as the result of remarriages, relationships get very complex. John Crouch first married Mary Elizabeth Folkard in 1789, married Ann Cockerton in 1793 and then Mary Elizabeth's half-sister Elizabeth Folkard in 1804.
- Daniel Manthorp FOLKARD married Charlotte CROUCH in 1815. They were half-cousins - they had the same grandfather, John FOLKARD.
- John Cope FOLKARD married Hannah CROUCH in 1819. They were step-cousins as they did not have a common ancestor.
- Charles FOLKARD married Caroline CROUCH in 1830. These, too, were step-cousins.
The three bridegrooms were half-brothers of Eliza CROUCH, Charlotte was her sister, and the other two brides were step-sisters,
