WILLIAM CURTIS
When William Curtis married Mary Pigg in 1781 at East Raynham the register described William as being of the parish of Snettingham. Accordingly I looked for baptisms of William Curtis in that area.
At Docking there were baptisms of William in 1862 (parents: Philip & Joan), 1865 (parents: Philip & Joan) and 1868 (Parents Richard & Sarah). It would appear that the first two died in infancy and the third would have been only about 13 on marriage so I discounted that.
At Ringstead there was a baptism in 1746 but this is probably too early as William married someone baptised in 1757.
At Brancaster there was a baptism in 1756 (parents: William & Margaret) and another in 1762 (parents: William & Thomasin). The former seems the most likely but one can't be sure.
