JOHN & MARY CRUTCHFIELD
There are rather a lot of Crutchfield baptisms where the parents are John & Mary in West Ham and Wandsworth. The relevance of Wandsworth is that John Crutchworth (1782-1851) who was living in West Ham at the time of both the 1841 and 1851 Censuses was shown in the 1851 Census as having been born in Wandsworth.
The earliest such baptism I have found was in 1754 and the only John & Mary I have found who married prior to that were John Crutchfield and Mary Castell both of St Martins in the Fields with a clandestine marriage at the Fleet Prison in 1749. For the other families I believe that a John married Mary Beck in 1776 and that the same John married Mary Ball in 1782.
I have attributed all the baptisms after 1776 to the younger John but it is possible that some of the children concerned are issue of the older John.
