Andrew Woodage married Mary Ward in 1794 but I haven't managed to trace find a baptism for him. In fact, the only other clue I have found is that he was a witness when John Woodage married Ann Ward in 1814 (the signatures in the registers tally). Note that both brides have the same surname so are very probably related. However, Mary was a widow when she married Andrew which makes it harder to make any progress.
I believe the John Woodage to be the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Woodage baptised at St Andrew, Holborn in 1772. Thomas married Elizabeth Cave in 1755 at St James, Clerkenwell. I strongly suspect that Andrew is another son of Thomas & Elizabeth particularly in view of the 2½ year gap between the baptisms of Thomas in 1763 and Elizabeth in 1766.
Details of the children of Thomas & Elizabeth are shown below. In some instances the spelling of Woodage was different e.g. Woodedge.
Name | Year of Baptism | Where Baptised | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
George | 1758 | St Sepulchre | |
Richard | 1760 | St Sepulchre | Died in 1762 |
Elizabeth | 1761 | St Sepulchre | Died in 1763 |
Thomas | 1763 | St Sepulchre | |
Elizabeth | 1766 | St Sepulchre | |
Mary Ann | 1768 | St Andrew, Holborn | |
Ann | 1770 | St Andrew, Holborn | Died 1771 |
John | 1772 | St Andrew, Holborn |
George married Susanna Langley in 1780. She died in 1785 and he then married Christian Ireland in 1787. His children included Elizabeth (baptised in 1783) and I believe she is the Elizabeth Woodage who was the second witness at the marriage of John & Ann in 1814.
Elizabeth married Richard Green in 1797 and George was one of the witnesses.
John married Ann Ward in 1814.
George and Elizabeth both adopted Cave (their mother's maiden name) as a second forename when they married and all three gave some of their children the second forename Cave.
I haven't established what happened to Thomas or Mary Ann. Although there are a number of burials for Woodage with these names they appear to relate to others with the same name.
Parents Thomas and Elizabeth both died in 1782 aged 54 & 45 respectively.
