Sarah Jane PERRY was the daughter of Jemima PERRY (c1827-1854) but appears to have been baptised twice: firstly in 1845 at Maldon when Jemima’s abode was shown as the workhouse and then in July 1847 at Woodham Walter on both occasions the mother is shown as Jemima PERRY even though Jemima had married William RAYMENT in the first half of 1847. No father is shown on either occasion so it seems likely that William was not the father or he would have been named on the second occasion. Subsequent to their marriage they had three children.

In the 1851 Census, Sarah Jane PERRY is apparently shown as Jane RAYMENT.
