As can be seen from the pictures below, Tit-bits magazine ran a competition relating to portraits of twins at different ages. This was won by Alfred LAYZELL (1837-1900) who submitted pictures of his twins Frederick LAYZELL (1865-1930) and Janet LAYZELL (1865-1936). Their mother, Mary Ann LAYZELL née RACKHAM (1842-1935) – known as Polly – is shown in the early photographs.
